Tricep Exercises To Build Strong and Powerful Arms With The Horseshoe Shape!

When talking about tricep exercises, the two most common questions that a male bodybuilder would say are,

"How can I make my arms bigger?......

.........and How can I increase my bench press?"

Triceps Muscle

Normally, I would have to specify in detail the importance in learning these values because learning can only enhance the weight lifters ability to train better and more appropriatly.

Nevertheless, your triceps takes up about two-thirds of the muscles in your arms.  A good tricep training can increase the muscle mass in your arms to give your arms that horseshoe shape.

In this concept a good tricep training is greatly recommended because your triceps are often the weakest muscle when doing bench press exercises, so be sure to train your triceps hard.

Anatomy of the Tricep Muscles

Your tricep muscles has three heads that connects to the humerus, scapula, and the forearm bone called the ulna.  These three heads is what creates the triceps muscles.

The 3 Heads Fot the tricep muscles, these heads are always known as the Lateral, Medial, and Long heads.
The Lateral Head
The lateral head is the part of the muscle that has that horseshoe shape and it is located on the outward facing side of the humerus.
The Medial Head The medial head is the muscle that is located towards the midline of the body.
The Long Head The long head is the largest head out of the other two head and it runs along the bottom of the humerus.  However, your triceps makes up about 70% of the muscle mass in your upper arm.

Functions of a Tricep

The purpose reasoning for tricep muscles is to help extend the elbow which results in the straightening of the arm.

Also, the second function of the tricep is normally done by the long head of the muscle, which is to help bring the arm down towards the body. The tricep shares this ability with the latissimus dorsi which is the back muscles.

Tricep Exercises

Here you will find a list of several tricep exercises to use during your tricep workouts. Each of these exercises that are listed below should be performed with proper technique and proper form to not only avoid any type of injury, but to also allow your muscles to get the full effect of your muscle growth during your exercise.

As for all the muscles in your body, be sure that your shoulders are warmed up before you begin your training. A warm-up is as easy as doing your first exercise with light weight that you are able to do 20 reps.

Exercise Tips
  • Fully contract the muscle during every repetition.
  • When exercising the tricep muscle, never bounce during every workout and every repetition.
  • Do not use excessive force.
  • Warm-up before you begin your training program.
  • Weight lift properly and use proper techniques.
It is extremely important that when doing any type of exercises that you perform the movements properly, if you do not use proper movements then you will not get the full benefits when doing tricep training. It is not easy to unlearn bad workout habits, so learning the right exercises techniques from the start is highly recommended.
