Starting and Stopping

Ready Set GoHaving the proper form for starting and stopping is an extremely important part of quickness in any organized team sport.  These proper techniques must be taught through very specific drills for every individual  sports for the actual movements during competitions.

These types of techniques does not occur naturally.  In performing these action while on the run or sprinting, there are some incorrect traits that needs to be corrected or relearned. Nobody is perfect when attempting to improve their ability, but trying is all that matters.

The key in learning the basics to start and stop and start again would be to not mimic others, but to learn the ideal techniques and create it to become your personal trait.




Correct stopping and starting or stop and start can result in a significant increase in:
  • Increase acceleration
  • Maximum Speed
  • Quickness
  • Agility
  • Overal Times in Short Distance
