Speed Training
Speed training will improve your fitness abilites as well as your athletic
abilities. It's the ability to reach your
highest point of velocity in whatever mode
of movement your in as in cycling, running, swimming, or anything that
deals
with locomotion.
A good running fitness
program or doing a good cycling exercise can develop are ability to
run fast or cycle faster.
However, very often
people do not realize that agility training benefits you better than by
doing speed drills. Agility training gives you the ability to cut
turns quickly, change directions and accelerate again, and for
explosive brakes.
Another fitness running
program that is closely related is endurance training. Most athletes must
maintain a fast or sprint velocity for about 6 seconds or more with
repeated sprints with little rest between
each session.
Running
is when both legs are off the ground at the same time. It's not
like walking, where you constantly have one foot on the ground for
every step. Running is a great way for speed training
While running fitness
can potentially cause injury to the runner just like any other
sports can do as
well. However, there are several benefits to running.
Some of the
benefits include:
- Improved Cardiovascular Health
- An Improved
Emotional State
In running fitness, it
has been know to have pshycological
benefits. Many athletes have reported feeling an elated,
euphoric state, often known as a "Runners
High". In fact, running is usually recommended to treat
people with depression or drug addiction.
Running, cycling, swimming, basically
anything that deals with some kind of speed drills, running fitness, or
speed training
can also cause serious injury if not being aware of what you are doing.
Follow
these guidelines to have
a safe run:
- Use Common Sense - Before you begin
running, be sure that have properly strecthed out all muscle groups,
check to see if shoes are tightly tied, and make sure that your running
off the street and not on the streets. Becareful with bumps and
cracks on the sidewalk.
- Be Visible - Always
make sure that people are able to see you know matter what time of
day. Especially make sure to have drives aware of where you
are at all times.
- Do Not Be Alone At Night - Make sure
to have a partner when you are running at night because anything could
happen. Find a running partner
- Carry Identification - When running,
carry any type of identification and emergency numbers in case of an
emergency. Use running belts to hold your information when
running.
- Limit Your
Distractions - Always pay attention to your surroundings.
Listening to iPods or MP3 players can be fun, but yet, dangerous.
Cutting off your sense of hearing can limit your hearing to hearing
oncoming traffic and anything that can be dangerous.
- Stretch Your Muscles - Before you begin your
running session, make sure to warm up for atleast a half an hour before
you begin running because you may injury yourself in many ways.
Agility Training
Agility training can definetly improve
your speed. This type of speed training program is
designed to
not only improve speed, but it also improves your stop and go
performance as well as quickness, change of directions, sudden braking,
and many more.
Not only that, it improves your explosiveness which
helps with football, baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, and
etc. There are simply many benefits on the improvement in speed
training.
Cycling Exercise
Cycling exercise is a great way to
exercise for 20-60 minutes a day for 3-5 times a week.
It's an
excellent way to achieve good health and fitness condition and it is
also a good speed drills.
Cycling is an affective exercise for improving your cardiovascular
system without the stress on your joints.
