Exercise Ball Crunch

The exercise ball crunch on a medicine ball tones the abs and works out the front core muscles of your abdominals. It's an exercise that works great for your core muscles. This is definetly an exercise that can and will tighten up those ab muscles.

This exercise will develop the entire core muscles of your abdominals if done correctly and properly.

Here are some tips to understand and implement as well as a description of how to do the exercise:

Tips:
  • Be sure to keep your feet flat when lying on the ball.
  • You can also brace your feet against a wall for better support. It's recommended for a beginner.
  • Do not bend your neck. Keep your neck always straight to prevent straining your neck.
  • Do not place your hands behind the head or neck.
  • Start off slow to keep total control of your body.
  • Keep firmly squeezing your abs.

Ball Crunch Exercise
  • Begin by lying on the medicin ball with your lower back with your knees bent and your legs shoulder width apart.
  • Place your arms eight alongside of your body or crossed on top of your chest.
  • Then lower your torso further down to the floor until you feel stretching.
  • Then firmly squeeze your abs and crunch up until you feel your abdominal muscles contracting.(Always keep your lower back in contact with the ball)
  • As you inhale, slowly go back down to starting position while keeping total control.
  • Repeat the process as needed.
