Cruise and Sprint

Cruise and sprint is an essential part of agility training.  It's an exercise designed to help individuals develop their speed, acceleration, and explosiveness for any sports or competitions.

As a certified personal trainer, I completely believe that this is a good training method.  Not only has this experience worked well for me personally, but it also has worked well for all my clients.  In other words,  I absolutely recommend this exercise for any and all thletes.

Cruise-Sprint Exercise

Here is the complete action to doing this exercise properly and efficiently.  You want to make this work to your benefit.

  1. Make sure to mark out a distance of 100 meters.
  2. Be sure to also make a mark to know exactly where 60 meters is at.
  3. From the starting line, start off with a cruise (jogging) and then gradually accelerate until you reach full speed at 60 meters.
  4. Then sprint out the rest of the final 40 meters.
  5. Repeat the process again, but be sure to reduce the number of repititions because this is an exercise that takes more time to complete.
