Close Grip Bench Press Exercise

Doing the close grip bench press exercise is a great way of executing a good muscle building program for your triceps.  This is an exercise that you would like to start off by using small weights and gradually work your way up with experience.

However, if you want your arms to look proportion with one another, then building strong triceps is an essential part of succeeding.  You have to look proportion to look good. 

Here you will find a step by step description on how to properly do this exercise.




Exercise Tips
  • Primarily the dips works out the triceps, but it also works out your shoulders and chest as a secondary.
  • Be sure to always use proper form and technique when performing this exercise.

Close Grip Exercise
  1. Just like if you wer doing bench press, lie on a flat bench with your feet placed firmly on the floor.
  2. With your palms facing forward, place your hands on the bar close together and begin lifting. 
  3. While keeping your elbows close to the side of your body, lower the bar down towards your chest. 
  4. Press the bar back up to the original position.
  5. Repeat the process.
