Baseball training gives these athletes an extra edge when playing the game. Agility training will improve the athletes performance and help make them a great athlete.

When training, all these all-star professional MLB athletes all have one thing in common, and that is having a great baseball exercises program that incorportates a great baseball workout and a great agility drills program. 

Here you will learn how to improve your individual skills and performance.  You will focus on strength and speed development when doing your agility exercises.  To a baseball player, this means a better coverage range and a faster performance when trying to get a fly ball.





Baseball Strength


Baseball exercises for strength is primarily what every baseball player should be built upon.  It should be the foundation of every individual athlete.  However, strength is broken down into 3 main ingredients and that is your lower body, your core, and upper body.  Incorporate these exercises to your strength experience and abilities.

  • Lower Body Strength - These exercises are squats, single squats, step ups, lunges, and etc.
  • Core Strength - These exercises consists of abdominnal work, medicine ball twists, lower back work, hyperextensions, and etc.
  • Upper Body Strength - Upper body exercises are bench presses, push ups, curls, shoulder raises, and etc.





Baseball Speed


Baseball Speed A player that has speed skills can definetly take a team a long way. 

For example, a player who is able to steal bases can definetly cause some damage to the opposite team. 

Anyone can be a faster individual
with the proper techniques in baseball training.

Trying to get faster is like learning something new.  It takes practice after practice to develop the skill and turn it into a talent.  Like what the say, practice does make perfection.





Baseball Power


They usually say that power training is specifically for football.   Well, it's not.  It is also used for baseball  training players as well. They need the power to be able to hit homeruns and to explode to first base after hitting the ball.  This is essential for all baseball players.

The baseball exercises and baseball training that usually consist for power normally are power cleans, push jerk, power shrugs and etc......However, plyometrics is also exceptable because it helps with being explosive movements for an athletes body weight.




Baseball Training Agility Drills


Base Rotation
  1. First, imagine that there is a large X on the ground beneath you.
  2. Place your goot on the end of one of the legs on the X.
  3. Square your shoulders and when doing so, rotate your hips in a 45 degree position.
  4. Again rotate your hips so your foot could be on another leg of the X.
  5. Pump your arms in the opposite direction of your legs.
  6. Repeat the process as needed.

Lateral Bounds
  1. Begin by standing on your right foot.
  2. Use your right leg and jump as far left as possible, and land on your left foot.
  3. When landing on your left foot, hold that position for 3-5 seconds.
  4. Then  jump as far to the right as far as possible, and land on your right foot.
  5. Again, hold that position for up to 3-5 seconds.
  6. Repeat the process.

3 Hurdle Drill
  1. Before you begin, set-up 3 six inch high hurdles about one yard apart.
  2. Now, turn sideways and start from the beginning.
  3. Starting with your left foot, sprint sideways with your knees up high over the six inch hurdles to your right.
  4. On the final hurdle land on your right foot and hold that position about 3-5 seconds.
  5. Sprint sideways with your knees up high to your left.
  6. On the final hurdle land on your left foot and hold the position for about 3-5 Seconds.
  7. Repeat the process as many times as needed.
